Since our society is not very active in the summer months, we reminded everyone to bring their mite boxes to church in our worship service bulletins. This brought awareness to our church members, and it was very successful too!
Our officers have also met to make plans for the year and are very excited about some events coming up. Besides honoring LWML on LWML Sunday, we have some church events this fall that involve the LWML, our annual Christmas Bazaar and luncheon in December. These all involve serving foods and making craft items/baked goods to sell. These homemade goods help raise money for some worthy projects in our church and in LWML. One project we have is to give money to seminary students each month to help support them. We are also looking at how to make our meeting/program nights more inviting so hopefully the younger women may be able to attend.
As always, it is in God’s hands, just like our LWML Sunday theme states, “Our hearts in HIS hand”, which I love! “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly” (1 Peter 4:8)
